authhound-probe recipes
Each recipe starts from a task — "test this NPS box", "figure out why it randomly fails" — and walks it end to end: the commands (credentials kept off the command line), how to read the output, and what to do for each result. If you're new to the probe, start at the quickstart and register it first.
- Test a Windows NPS server
Register the probe in NPS and run a real PEAP login from a client machine.
- Test RADIUS from Docker
Run a one-off test from a container on a Synology, QNAP, or utility VM.
- Monitor from a Raspberry Pi
A branch-site liveness check on a Pi with systemd, cron, --json and --strict.
- Chase an intermittent failure
Turn "it randomly fails" into numbers with --count and multi-server compare.
- Diagnose EAP-TLS stalls
Find the packet size your path drops when 802.1X hangs mid-handshake.
- Wire into RMM / monitoring
The --json schema, exit codes, and worked bash + PowerShell check scripts.
- Check BlastRADIUS exposure
Read the Message-Authenticator posture check for CVE-2024-3596.
- Verify VLAN assignment
Assert the VLAN and returned attributes an Access-Accept actually carries.
